“Tom provided us with a very comprehensive report. We highly recommend him highly.”
– Dr. Mohammed Arsiwala
“I would highly recommend Accu-Spec to anyone in need of a home inspection. They are very methodical and take their time to be sure everything is checked. Their reports are very thorough and clear especially regarding what things should be addressed right away. They answered all my questions and my two experiences using this company have been very good ones.”
– M. Sweet
“We reviewed many inspector companies before going with Accu-Spec. We were very pleased with the result. He was very thorough and found a lot of things that we had missed, which we had fixed before finalizing the buy. This probably netted us about $5000 in savings, as we did not have to correct later. Tom also took the time to explain what he found and was doing; we never felt rushed during the inspection.”
– Ralph Wright
“I consider you and your company to be the epitome of professionalism. You have my highest recommendation. Your inspection of my commercial property saved me in excess of $700,000.00.”
– Doug Bible

The inspection provides an invaluable learning and discovery experience during which your questions can be answered on the spot. You will gain insight into maintenance and energy conservation tailored specifically to your home. We wholeheartedly encourage you to accompany us during the inspection. You will most likely leave the inspection knowing more about your new home than the current owner. Your inspection report is easy to read and includes color photos to help pinpoint findings. In addition, all of our clients are offered free telephone consultation after the inspection.
Using fundamentals of building science, Accu-Spec uses a whole-house approach to reviewing the energy performance of a building and uses building diagnostics to identify opportunities to strengthen a home’s energy performance, durability and safety. By viewing the “house as a system” of integrated components that perform as integral parts of the whole structure, cost effective improvements can be developed and proposed.
We can provide homeowners, remodelers and new home builders with an assessment of the most cost effective ways to enhance existing and new homes to maximize property value, improve comfort, minimize energy use and reduce equipment maintenance costs. Using Infrared technology inspectors can diagnose insulation and moisture problems using advanced technology to investigate building components by a less invasive means. Learn More Here.
We are The Log Home Inspection specialists in Eastern Tennessee. East Tennessee has a lot of log homes and we have built and inspected more log homes in the Knox County, Sevier County, Jefferson County and Cocke County areas than any other inspector in this area and possibly the entire country. We know what to look for when it comes to structure, timber frame roofs, etc. and can educate you on issues unique to owning a log home such as log maintenance. See our blog comments on “What to Look for When Buying a Log Home” and “How to Stop Squirrels from Chewing a Log Home” and “Log Homes, Wood Sided Homes and Carpenter Bees”.
Although Tennessee Home Inspectors are licensed, quality and knowledge vary greatly. Unfortunately, close to 80% of Tennessee inspectors appear to be blind when it comes to knowing what to look for during a home inspection. The reason for this is that by taking a few classes and by passing a simple exam, ANYONE can obtain a license. What this means to you, the home buyer, is that in many cases you are more qualified to perform an inspection on the home you are buying than the good old boy inspector with cheap inspection prices and immediate availability. One of the major reasons to get a home inspection is to avoid a money pit, make sure your inspector knows what one looks like! Please see our blog post: Avoiding The Blind Inspector: Learn Seven Things You Must Know To Hire The Right Home Inspector for advice on how to choose a qualified inspector.
