At Accu-Spec Home Inspection, PC, we are a certified home energy rating firm that performs unbiased third-party energy ratings. Our energy ratings are based on a point system (or index) that allows homes to be compared for their energy efficiency levels. The system we use is endorsed by the EPA’s Energy Star Program and provides a Home Energy Rating Score (HERS). This scoring system is similar to the MPG label on new vehicles, giving homeowners an easy way to understand their home’s energy performance.

2. Plan Review: Contact us to review your house plans for compliance. We’ll analyze your building plans and provide preliminary energy ratings along with recommendations to meet the required rating of 80 or lower.

3. Mid-Construction Inspection: Once insulation is installed, but before the sheetrock, we’ll perform a mid-construction inspection to ensure compliance.

4. Final Inspection: Upon completion, a final inspection using state-of-the-art blower door and Duct Blaster tests (if applicable) will ensure that the home meets Energy Star standards.

5. Display the Energy Star Label: Once approved, you can display the Energy Star label on qualifying homes and use Energy Star promotional materials to market your homes.
